Governor extends school hiatus
At today’s press conference, Governor Inslee extended the Stay Home, Stay Healthy proclamation through Sunday, May 31st. Since the Governor did not announce any new exceptions for schools, only approved online training is allowable at this time. We will continue to provide you with any updates from the Governor’s office as they become available.
Information from WA State
Governor Inslee is expected to hold a press conference May 1, during which he will discuss the status of his Stay Home, Stay Healthy proclamation. The Governor is also expected to further explain some of the details surrounding his plan to relax these restrictions in phases based on the scientific data that he had discussed at his press conference yesterday.
We are hopeful that tomorrow’s press conference will provide us all with a far better understanding of when (LETI Vocational School) might be able to resume normal operations. Since this press conference will likely provide the guidance that will govern your school’s operations for much of the month of May, we encourage you to tune in if at all possible.
While we will continue to provide updates whenever they become available, tomorrow’s press conference represents an opportunity for you to receive this information first hand.
Please know that we continue to work with the Governor's office, Labor and Industries Occupational Safety and Health Division, the Department of Health and a team of higher education leaders in the state to develop a re-opening plan that aligns with social distancing and other CDC guidelines. Having a set of guidelines approved by the Governor will provide a road-map to schools once re-opening is allowed.
We hope this message finds you safe and well. Please know that a number of valuable resources for Washington State businesses are available at the link below.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to us with any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
